I have spent many years exploring the range of possibilities within printmaking – the immediacy of mono-printing; the tonal qualities of woodcuts and lino prints; the boldness of screen-printing and the diversity of the new mediums such as photo etching and digital imagery.  I particularly love the quality and intricacy of the etching process, the textured feel of aquatints or the velvety black of mezzotints. With my post-graduate course at the Art School in Aberystwyth I was introduced to lithography and its’ creative possibilities through the use of the drawn line or the painterly effect created with tusche.

What attracts me to printmaking above all, is the fact that results cannot always be predicted with chance playing a great part in the results. My work often has a natural feel frequently focusing on landscapes, seascapes and flowers as I try to capture and portray the essences at play.
